Accountability body

Tasks and responsibilities. The accountability body gives a retrospective annual (the previous calendar year) opinion on the actions of the board, the policy implemented by the board, as well as on policy decisions for the future. The accountability body also has specific consultation rights.

Authorities

The accountability body’s authorities regarding implementing tasks is based on the Pensions Act and on the pension fund statutes.

The board appoints the members of the accountability body

  • 2 employer representatives are appointed on the recommendation of Shell Petroleum B.V.
  • 4 participant representatives are appointed following elections among the participants. The Central Works Council of Shell in the Netherlands has the right to nominate preferred candidates.

Composition of the accountability body

The accountability body comprises 6 members and represents the employer and participants. Representatives for pensioners are appointed once the number of pensioners reaches 10% or more of the total participant base. This is not yet the case.
