Your pension benefit
When will you receive your pension? If you live in the Netherlands you will automatically receive a monthly pension benefit once your pension application has been finalised. You do not need to do anything yourself;
Are you living abroad? If you live abroad you have to deal with other regulations To receive your pension benefit, you will need to submit a ‘Life Certificate’ once a year.
Taxes on your pension benefits
From the moment you receive state retirement pension, different tax rates and tax credits will apply. View the website of the Belastingdienst(opens in new window) (Dutch Tax and Customs Administration) for more information.
We will change your pension benefit every year.
We increase or decrease the benefit each year on 1 July by the result of the Collective Variable Pension (CVP). This means the results of investments and other factors, such as changes in life expectancy. We base this on the results on 31 December. Payment dates
Your pension payment is made monthly. Below you will find the exact payment dates for the current year.
Did you start employment on or after 1 July 2013? Or did you participate in the net pension scheme (for your salary was higher than the statutory fiscal maximum)? Then you receive your pension from SNPS. Your pension is paid afterwards. We transfer it to your bank account around the 25th of the month.
In case you have a foreign account number, this may take a bit longer.

Did you start employment before 1 July 2013? Then you receive your pension from SSPF. Your pension benefit is paid monthly. Starting from September 2026, you will receive your SSPF benefit around the 25th of the month instead of at the beginning. In case you have a foreign account number, this may take a bit longer.

Notify us of any changes in good time
Are you moving abroad, or are you going to cohabit, marry or become a registered partner abroad? Notify us of it as soon as possible through my-Shell pension(opens in new window). Do you want to report a birth or death? Then please contact us.
Did you change your bank account number? Then let us know through the contact form below at contact. Send us a photo or copy of your ID (make your BSN and passport photo illegible).
You will annually receive a statement of your pension benefits for your tax return
You will receive the statement of your pension benefits (annual statement) before 1 March every year. You can find it under my-Shell pension(opens in new window).
We will send you an e-mail when the annual statement is available for you. Provide your email address to us through my-Shell pension. If you have selected the option to receive physical mail, you will receive the annual statement in your letterbox.
